Interment

She was walking away from Love
And like freshly slathered paint
It stuck to her heart
and dripped
into unknown recesses of her soul
clogging her very being
Drowning
Her
From within

She was letting go of Hope
But like a newly slaughtered bird
the feathers clung
and pricked
all the secret desires she had nursed
Tearing her apart
Shredding
Her
From within

She was seeing the death of a dream
And it's last long drawn breath
Took all of her being
And sucked
all the joy that in her soul had danced
Blowing out her light
Interring
Her
From within
